ACAW to host Bow Wow Luau- April 18

Only two days remain to buy tickets for Another Chance Animal Welfare League’s Hawaiian dinner fundraiser, the “Bow Wow Luau” on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Redding Senior Center. The evening of good food and exciting entertainment will start at 5:00 p.m. with a no host bar; Mai Tais and Margaritas are $5.00, beer is $4.00 a glass and wine is $10 for the evening with purchase of a “bottomless glass.” The Hula Halau Kulikelaulani Dancers will provide the first hour of entertainment, followed by the Country Gold Dancers. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase.

Dinner will start at 6:30 p.m. and the menu features Huli Huli Chicken, fried or steamed rice, a fruit kabob, frog-eye salad, tossed green salad, and pineapple upside down cake for dessert.

The dessert auction will begin as at 8:00 p.m. followed by the raffle drawings. Awards will be given for the best Hawaiian dressed man and woman and the best Hawaiian dressed couple. The climax of the evening will be a performance by the Fire Festival Dancers.

Cost for tickets is only $25.00 per person; they are available at the ACAWL Thrift Store, 9384 Deschutes Road, Ste. D in Palo Cedro or by phone at 547-7387. The Senior Center is located at 2290 Benton Drive in Redding.

Chamber sponsors Show & Shine

Kick off this year’s Kool April Nites week by attending the 15th Annual Show & Shine put on by the Greater Palo Cedro Area Chamber of Commerce from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel parking lot. Admission is free for spectators and $5 per car for show entries. The first 100 entrants will receive a gift bag. Food and drinks will be available on the grounds.
