Two Whitmore residents primary suspects believed responsible for marijuana growing operation


hufford ranch rd1On Tuesday April 5th, 2016, Agents with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Investigative Team (SMIT), Shasta Interagency Narcotic Task Force (SINTF) and California Department of Fish and Wildlife Watershed Enforcement Team served a Shasta County Superior Court Search Warrant at two locations in the 10000 block of Hufford Ranch Rd. in Whitmore, Shasta County.

As a result of the search warrants, two indoor marijuana growing cultivations were located at the said properties. A total of 909 growing marijuana plants were seized along with approximately 30+ pounds of processed marijuana packaged for sale. Other items that were located and seized was approximately 54 pounds of marijuana shake, components for a Butane Honey Oil Extraction lab closed loop system, approximately 10+ grams of concentrated cannabis, digital scales, two firearms and approximately $1,700 in U.S. Currency.

Both locations were found to be connected and the primary suspects believed to be responsible for the marijuana growing operation have been identified as Daniel Stephen Ackerman, 50 years old from Whitmore, CA and Michael Shon McCrae, 59 years old from Whitmore, CA. A case will be submitted to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for review.

Personnel from the Shasta County Resource Management Department arrived on scene and conducted a separate investigation on numerous Shasta County Code violations.
