The Redding Christian JV team is off to a 3-0 start, building on their win at Dunsmuir with a 60-40 win over Biggs in the first round of the tournament, and defeating Wheatland 46-40. Against Wheatland, Josiah Van Denend led the team with 17 points and 11 rebounds and Taylor Brown added 11 points and five rebounds. Trevor Dore ran the team effectively dishing out six assists, while Carson Piper had six steals. Christian Reyes added five crucial offensive rebounds, three with putbacks.
The team scored 21 of its points in the decisive 2nd quarter and held on through the second half. After winning in the first two rounds the Lions will play in the championship game of the tournament tonight.

The Redding Christian Varsity Boys (2-0) basketball team won their opening game of the John Holland Tournament in Greenville. Stats are unavailable, and so this game will be summarized along with the later games of the tournament.
