The park continues to seek funds for on-going growth.

A few ways to help:

The Palo Cedro Community Park committee has been diligent in continuing to make our public park a place for families and friends to meet and have a good time.

The latest completed park project is the Emilie Reedy Memorial Picnic Area that was developed as a tribute to Emilie Reedy, a dear friend to the Community Park, whom she shared so much of her volunteer life to the cause.

Constructed with the help of the Benoit family, the area is located south-east of the playground and consists of a concrete pad with picnic tables, dedicated bench donated by Soroptimist, and barbecue pit.

The picnic area was developed with contributions from Tullis, Inc, Mt. Gate Quarry/Whiterock Co., Loucks Grading, Axner Excavating, and Soroptimist International of Redding. Many of the family and friends of Emilie and her daughter Sandi Benoit donated their time that adds a nice addition to the community park.

A project currently under construction is the Yaley Pavilion.  Inspired by the late Tom Yaley, Sr. of Palo Cedro that donated $10,000 for a small wedding/events pavilion ten years ago. After construction, the 14X22 pavilion will be surrounded by landscaping.

The park’s next largest and expensive project is the paving for the south corner parking lot.

Another smaller, fun project for the kids is the anticipated Harmony Park. The proposed project is innovatively designed musical instruments that are durable, sustainable, and perfectly tuned sound sculptures.  But this too comes at some cost.  (No decision has been committee voted on which instruments are to be placed at the park.) A website to the give readers an idea of the proposal is at this link.
