The Oak Run Volunteer Fire Company’s annual Christmas Bazaar at Oak Run School on Nov. 8, 2014 promises to be one of the biggest and best ever, with 15 vendors already signed up. The talented craftsmen and women will be selling a wide variety or items, such as American flags made from reclaimed wood, fused-glass picture frames, handmade jewelry, a dog grooming, birdhouses, wind-chimes, sun-catchers, handmade blankets, and floral arrangements in hand-made wooden bowls.
The silent auction will include a certificate for tree-trimming, a certificate for a chiropractic evaluation, a load of gravel, a fly fishing trip, yoga classes, and firewood, Some of the vendors will be donating items for the silent auction as well.
The Fire Department will be selling their famous home-made cinnamon rolls for breakfast along with coffee and hot chocolate, while the Oak Run 4-H Club will be selling hot dogs for lunch. Oak Run School’s eighth graders will operate a bake sale table filled with home-baked sweets.
Most of Oak Run’s community groups will set up information tables to recruit new members and raise funds for their organizations. The Oak Run Volunteer Fire Company will sell T-shirts and give out information about how to make your home fire safe. The Oak Run Community Library will dispense information and offer Jalapeno jelly and jams for sale. The Oak Run History group will sell Christmas items, cake and fruit. Oak Run School will sponsor a Kids’ Corner where children will be shown how to make Christmas cards and tree ornaments.
This looks to be an event no one will want to miss, so mark your calendars now and make the short drive to Oak Run for the Christmas Bazaar on Nov. 8. It will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. To reach Oak Run from Palo Cedro take Old Forty-four Drive to Millville, where it turns into Oak Run Road. Take Oak Run Road to the three way stop at the top of the grade and turn right. Continue up the hill to Oak Run. The school is on the right just past the Oak Run Country Store.
