Redding, CA –Soroptimist International of Redding’s Mardi Grasfundraiser is on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at the Mercy Oaks at 2225 College View Drive in Redding, California. Doors open at 5 PM and the event runs until 10 PM. No one under 21 admitted.

Our 2016 Mardi Gras marks the club’s 44th year in holding this fundraiser in our community. All funds from this event goes towards local projects, programs, and awards supported by Soroptimist International of Redding. Such projects that our club has supported in the past include: the construction of the Senior Citizen’s Building; the establishment of the Secret Witness Program of Shasta County; financial awards for youth and women; Make-a-Wish; Shasta Historical Society; The Good News Rescue Mission; ONE SAFE PLACE building fund, and more.

This year’s Mardi Gras will once again feature the crowning of our King and Queen. Based on votes from the community, one King and one Queen will be recognized at 8:00 PM for their work in making a difference in the lives of women and/or children in Shasta County.

Go to www.soroptimistredding.comto nominate your favorite man and/or woman for this prestigious honor. Nominations for King and Queen close on January 11th2016. The announcement of the top three nominations will be on January 25, 2016.

An evening of Mardi Gras includes music, DanceContests, Doorprizes, and Casino games. Chips are redeemed for prizes in our ALL NEW, BETTER-THAN-EVERgift store, which will include trips and golf packages. Tickets are only $15 andcan be purchased by any of the Soroptimist International of Redding members, Mardi Gras King or Queen candidates, as well as at Kuebler’s Furniture on Churn Creek, or at the door the night of the event. A New Orleans Style Dinner is being prepared by Soroptimist members and Chef David Diab and will be served between 5 and 8 PM. Presold tickets are available for $15. There will be a limited amount of tickets sold for dinner at the door for $15.
