Whitmore Mountain Faire
Don’t forget to attend the Whitmore Mountain Faire on Saturday, May 17, 2014. The parade will start at 10:00 a.m., so if you want to see it, plan to get to Whitmore about 9:30 to find a good spot from which to watch. If you arrive too late, you will find yourself following the parade into town.
After the parade, browse among the many arts and crafts vendors’ booths set up in the shade of giant evergreens in the Way Station Park and place bids on silent auction items to benefit the Whitmore Volunteer Fire Company.
At lunch time buy a barbecued hamburger from the Community Center cooks and listen to live musical entertainment while you eat. After lunch you can buy dessert from the bake sale booth, place a bet on the cow chip bingo game, look over the beautiful cars on display at the Community Center, or catch a game of horse shoes.
If you plan to stay all day, buy a ticket to the barbecued tri-tip/chicken dinner that will be served from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tickets will be on sale at the information booth.
Third Annual Palo Cedro WAMM Walk
The third annual Palo Cedro Wine, Art, Music and Merchant Walk (PC WAMM), sponsored by the Greater Palo Cedro Area Chamber of Commerce, has been slated for Saturday, May 31, 2014. Ticket holders will be issued a Passport which entitles them to make the rounds of the exhibit areas called pavilions.
Each pavilion located at a Palo Cedro merchant, will include an area winery, art display, musician, and an hors d’oeuvre that complements the wine provided by Palo Cedro restaurants.
The PC WAMM Walk will run from 5:00 through 8:00 p.m. Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. for Passport check-in where ticket holders will receive a commemorative wine glass. The Passport is a map that will guide guests to each pavilion, where they will receive a stamp, marking their visit to that location. The $20 tickets will be available for purchase at the event, but advanced ticket sales are recommended since last year’s event sold out.
Currently tickets are available on the event website at www.pcwammwalk.com or at Palo Cedro Printing—9481 Deschutes Rd, Palo Cedro. For questions call Robert Hanson 530-356-3546.
