Children’s play area open for use at Palo Cedro Park

If you haven’t been to the Palo Cedro Park on Cedro Lane recently, you might want to load up your kids or grandkids and take them to play at the recently completed children’s playground. While you are there, admire the exquisite trellis designed and built by Park Director Bill Jenkins.

The trellis features powder-coated metal panels containing cutouts of children at play. It will soon contain benches upon which parents or grandparents can sit while supervising their charges as they play on the new state-of-the-art swings, slides and climbing structures.

The children’s playground at the park contains state-of-the-art climbing and swinging structures. All it needs now are children to play on it.

Jenkins, a relative newcomer to Palo Cedro and the Park Board, has taken the lead in making the playground a reality. He researched online and found the best deal on the first-class climbing/slide and swing structures, as well as the unique honeybee bouncers. He also designed the artistic sidewalks surrounding the two play areas that link them to the bridge to the picnic area and the parking lot.

The Park Board is planning to hold a grand opening for the playground at which they will recognize all those who contributed to this wonderful project.
