On October 15, 2017 at 9:22 P.M., officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Westside Road in regard to a stabbing and contacted Brian Harvey, age 24, of Redding.  Harvey stated he had been stabbed. He was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center for treatment.

Harvey stated an unknown woman attacked him with a knife. He described the suspect as a white female, in her mid-30s. Witnesses at the location were able to provide a description of the suspect and the associated vehicle. Officers canvassed the area with assistance from the California Highway Patrol helicopter.   

A Redding Police Officer was able to locate the suspect vehicle sometime later on Cedars Road. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Aaron Ashby, age 29, of Redding, and was arrested for a felony warrant. The suspect was not in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop. Ashby is not believed to be involved in the stabbing incident.
