A Palo Cedro Neighborhood Watch group had a public community meeting on Friday, June 30, 2017, at Good Times Pizza.
The meeting was attended by over 50 community members. In regards of the community support, event organizer, Kelly Jo Lindblom said, ” I am proud of our community.” Also attending to speak and support were—a Shasta County Sheriff Deputy, Supervisor Mary Rickert, Shasta County Volunteer Patrol Coordinator Arnie Brinton and representatives from the Shasta Chapter of the Guardian Angels.
The representatives talked about the increase of crime in the local communities and discussed their goals to keep Palo Cedro safe. Talk of ways to accomplish their goals by addressing the specific vulnerable areas, ways of improving communication, collaboration, and individual home security.
“We covered the effects of AB109, Proposition 47, and Proposition 57 on our neighborhoods with the increase in the numbers of those with a criminal history. I am so pleased and impressed that there were so many in attendance. I predict we will be seeing more of these meetings in Shasta County.” said Supervisor Mary Rickert.
