The Shasta County Opportunity Center (OC), a work training program for people with disabilities in Shasta County, earned a three-year accreditation through CARF International that extends through March 31, 2022.

CARF accreditation is a requirement to be certified as a community vocational rehabilitation program in California. A CARF accreditation with no recommendations, like the one received by the OC, is only achieved by three percent of CARF surveys.

People with disabilities at the Opportunity Center perform paid work in several different work environments while learning the skills necessary to obtain competitive employment in the local community.
