Varsity Girls celebrate league championship after the Burney game

Redding Christian Girls’ Varsity Basketball team beat Burney, wins 5-Star League

The Redding Christian Varsity Girls team jumped out to an 18-4 lead and cruised to an easy 60-17 win over 2nd place Burney to win the 5-Star League Title.  Sammie Wunner led the way with 16 points and 5 rebounds, Sadie Alexander had 12 points on a 5-6 shooting night, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals, and Courtney Jones added in 11 points, 6 assists, and 6 steals.  The Lions were ranked number 1 in playoff points at the beginning of the week, but now must await their seeding and matchup for the Section Division 6 playoffs.  They complete their regular season with a perfect 8-0 5-Star League record, and 23-3 overall record, with all three losses coming to larger division opponents.

JV Boys Finished their season 6-2 in league and 14-10 overall

The Redding Christian Varsity Boys concluded a perfect regular season with a 72-35 win over the Burney Raiders on Thursday night.  The Game was moved from Friday because of forecast inclement weather Friday night in the mountains.  With the win, the Lions end their season at 8-0 in the 5-Star League and 28-0 overall.  They await their seeding for Northern Section Division 6 Playoffs, which will be announced this weekend.

JV team beats Burney 55-32

The Redding Christian JV team completed their season with a 55-32 win over Burney, completing the season with a 6-2 league mark, and a 14-10 overall record, good for second in the 5-Star League.
