On Friday, October 20, 2017, at 5:12 p.m., Spencer Mojarro (23 years), reported being the victim of a robbery. Mojarro said he received a phone call from the suspect, Tyler Stone (23 years), who was a friend of Mojarro. Stone told Mojarro he was unable to leave his residence and requested Mojarro bring him food and cigarettes, with the agreement he would pay Mojarro for the items when he arrived. Mojarro agreed and subsequently responded to Stones residence, 19167 Gravel Plant Road, Redding CA, with the requested items.
Upon arrival, Stone, met Majarro at the front door of the residence. After providing Stone with the food and cigarettes he requested, Mojarro asked Stone for the money he paid for the items. Stone then produced a handgun, pointing it at Mojarro’s head. Fearing for his life, Mojarro retreated back to his vehicle, fled the location and called law enforcement.
Shasta County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Gravel Plant Road address to contact Stone. Upon arrival, Stone attempted to flee the residence via a back door where, he was contacted by a waiting deputy and taken into custody without incident. The handgun used by Stone was recovered at the scene and determined to be a replica air soft gun, having the same features as a real handgun.
Stone was arrested and transported to the Shasta County Jail where, he was booked for a single count of robbery. Stone’s bail was set at $75,000.00. A booking photo of Stone is depicted below.
