On Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at approximately 8:42 a.m., a reporting party contacted the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office regarding a disturbance in the 5400 block of Pine Street in Happy Valley, CA.  While SHASCOM was collecting the original reporting parties’ information, TEEZAR BRADY, 23, contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report a family disturbance at the same residence and advised he had fired a firearm at a subject, later identified as DALTON BROUSSEAU-TRACY, 24.  While deputies were en route to the address, Brousseau-Tracy contacted SHASCOM to advise he had been shot by a firearm and was en route to a hospital to seek treatment.

Once Deputies arrived at the Pine Street residence, Teezar Brady and his girlfriend, Rachael Walker, were contacted.  Prior to Deputies’ arrival, Teezar Brady had unloaded his handgun, which was registered to him, and placed it at a safe location for Deputies to collect.  At the same time, other Deputies contacted Brousseau-Tracy and his girlfriend, Annette Brady, at a hospital in Redding.  All parties live at the residence together.

During the investigation, it was determined that Brousseau-Tracy and Annette Brady got into a verbal argument while at the residence.  Fearing for Annette’s safety, Teezar Brady retrieved his 9mm handgun from his safe.  A brief struggle ensued between Teezar Brady and Brousseau-Tracy during which time, Brousseau-Tracy sustained a single non-life threatening gunshot wound to the chest area.  Brousseau-Tracy and Annette got into their vehicle, left the location to seek medical treatment, and contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

Due to statements gathered and evidence collected, Teezar Brady was placed under arrest for 664/187(a) PC (attempted murder) and 245(a)(2) PC (assault with a deadly weapon).  The handgun was collected and the case will be sent to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
