On Monday, Foothill High School Science Club hosted The Cougar Clipse—solar eclipse assembly. The FHS Science Club invited the 1400 students to the main street quad area at 9:45, and then headed back to class at 10:30 a.m. (the eclipse was at its maximum at 10:16). The Club provided solar viewers for the students as well as telescopes with solar filters. For the full solar fun effect, “Sun” themed music was played during the event.
Science Teacher and Club Advisor Matthew Fowler said, “Our event went pretty well, a little cloudy, but all in all the students got to see the eclipse. We’re hoping it will be something the students will remember for a long time.”
Millville Elementary School students gathered on the field with the solar eclipse glasses to view the historic eclipse.
