On Sept. 15, 2017, Junction Educational Foundation (JEF) held their annual fundraiser for the school—the Moonlight Harvest Festival at Gover Ranch in Anderson.

The Gover Ranch grounds made a lovely venue for guests to enjoy a beautiful moonlit balmy night while listening to the local talents of The Billies.

With their admission ticket, guests were given a drink ticket for their choice of beer from Wild Card Brewery in Redding or wine from Indian Peak Winery in Manton; and a dinner provided by the Lions Club of tri-tip, chicken, beans, and salad. Extra drink tickets were available for purchase.

JEF committee members methodically displayed the raffle items, silent and live auction items for view which included the fabulous items made by Junction student classrooms.

An optional entertainment enjoyed by many, were lawn games that festival goers could participate in to win prizes of a Ruger 10/22 rifle donated by Olde West Gun and Loan; a kayak donated by JEF; a cornhole set donated by Keri Smith; a liquor gift basket donated by Liquor Barn and a Brewmaster’s Home Brew Kit donated by Nor Cal Brewing Solutions.

The evening concluded with twelve vigorously live auction items under the direction of auctioneer/Junction School personnel Johnny Sylvester.  The auction items offered for bid were: Silverthorn Resort Houseboat Rental; Pine House Chateau plus Antlers Patio Boat (donated by Antlers Resort owner Allen West) ; Tsasdi Resort donated by Tsasdi;  Christmas Light Tour (donated by Executive Limo); Quilt (donated by Kelly Lindblom Angulo and Lisa Lindblom of Crown Quilting); Cornhole set (donated by Colleen Whelen); Custom made dining table (donated by Adam Whelen); Wilcox Oaks Golf; Sacramento Getaway (donated by Embassy Suites, Sacramento Zoo, CA Railroad Museum, and River Cats); Tactical Pistol Pack (donated by Olde West Gun and Loan, Firearms Academy of Redding); and “The Reel Life” Print (donated by artist Denise Granger Kerbs).
