These Sheriff Reports are daily condensed records kept by the county sheriff’s office of disturbances, police reports, and other reported criminal activity for the communities east of Redding.


Jan. 15

  • A resident in the 10700 block of Beaver Rd in Millville called to state that she believes suspect is using her phone number to contact caller’s ex-boyfriend’s current girlfriend. Caller refuses to change her number.
  • A resident in the 30700 block of Sleepy Hollow Drive in Shingletown to report possible TRO violation. Neighbor is burning debris behind caller’s house, using accelerant very close to caller’s house. Caller believes in violation due to suspect making threats in past to “burn” the caller out.
  • A resident in the 26880 block of South Cow Creek Rd in Millville called to report handgun taken from callers house one year ago by daughter’s boyfriend while he was housesitting for caller while she was away. Caller did not immediately report because she thought male would return the firearm at some point.

Jan. 16

  • A call was received at 6:04 A.M. to report a male approached caller at the My-T-Fine store in Bella Vista asking for a cigarette. Male then followed caller home on foot. Appeared to have unknown object concealed in his jacket. Male last seen at end of caller’s driveway.
  • A resident in the 20000 block of Jem Lane in Bella Vista called to report her pregnant daughter and her boyfriend are in a fight in the front yard about a property issue.
  • A call was received from a school in the 10100 block of Old Oregon Trail to report a red steer/cow with horns is in the field area of the school. Children are safe out of the field area. Maintenance standing by… still loose in the field.
  • A bypasser called to report his concern for bicycle theft. Two males each pushing two bicycles southbound on Old Oregon Trail near Old Alturas Rd near the Columbia Store.

Jan. 17

  • A resident in the 29800 block of Hwy 299 E in Round Mountain called to report while she was out of town numerous items went missing. Garage door was forced open.
  • A resident in the 24100 block of Hwy 44 in Millville called to state a blue Chevy truck with extra cab has been seen at the entrance of her driveway for the last three days, that is now occupied by a young male with dark hair and glasses. Caller not sure why he is there. Left today about 4:30 p.m. but caller concerned he may return.

Jan. 18

  • A resident in the 24200 block of Old 44 Drive in Millville called to state she believes U-Haul is charging her debit card fraudulently.
  • A resident in the 8500 block of Maynard Rd in Palo Cedro called to report she believes her identity has been stolen after she received mail from a different bank with account she did not open. Caller has been working with her bank attempting to change her account.

Jan. 19

  • A call was received to report hearing a fight between a male and female with possible juvenile. House located on Elk Trail West frontage Dry Creek
    Caller stating fight could possibly be between two male neighbors over a dog issue.

Jan. 20

  • A resident in the 10200 block of Old Oregon Trail called to report granddaughter stole almost $1000 from caller.
  • CHP called to report accident. Dark blue sedan, possibly hit guard rail, appears abandoned. CHP requests medical start precautionary.
  • A resident in the 27200 block of Oak Run to Fern Rd in Oak Run called to report her husband is causing a fight, pulled her hair. She has locked herself in a room.
  • A call was received to report a subject with a tan Toyota Tundra is on uncle’s property in the Dove Flats and Intermountain Rd area causing a fight threatening to fight subject. He drove off then came back starting another fight. Subject is now on south part of property near the road that exits driving south bound.

Jan. 21

  • Several residents in the 22400 block of Boyle Lane in Palo Cedro called to report hearing two loud bangs from unknown direction. Nothing else seen or heard.

Jan. 22

  • A resident in the 14900 block of Oak Run Rd in Oak Run called to report a Windows Computer scam.
  • A call was received of a subject going around to residents in the Intermountain Rd and Hwy 299 E in Bella Vista stating both his truck and motorhome are out of gas and yelling when you don’t give him anything. Caller believes he is under the influence of something. Subject is 35 years, checkered overall, blue jeans. Blue truck towing a tan motorhome.
  • A resident in the 10400 block of Surrey Lane in Palo Cedro called to report hearing 15-20 shots over 5 minutes. Unknown direction.
